TUNRA Bulk Solids is located in the Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER) at the University of Newcastle. The offices and laboratory facilities of TBS are located in the former BHP NTC (CRL) Research Facilities in the Newcastle suburb of Shortland.

Our modern and comprehensive Flow Properties Laboratory at TUNRA Bulk Solids provides all equipment neccessary to characterise bulk materials.

The premises of TUNRA Bulk Solids comprise large experimental facilities with very high head room and overhead cranes allowing the accomodation and operation of small industrial scale test rigs and pilot plants.

In addition, different scale environmental chambers are available, which enable testing of bulk solids handling equipment under real life operating conditions.
