HunterNet Future Leaders Program 2019
Congratulations to our Engineering Manager Dr Bin Chen and Team HealthPort for winning the HunterNet Future Leaders Program for 2019. The winners were announced at a gala dinner in Newcastle on Friday 25 October.
The program was delivered across 12 sessions by current leaders and professional practitioners over a 6-month period and was designed to equip future leaders with core business and team leadership skills. The final weeks of the Program involved a team based project which was supported by an experienced Industry mentor (Ian Winn for Team HealthPort).
The project brief had to include two key aspects;
- To develop an identity and positioning concept for the greater Newcastle region which promotes it as a global city; and
- Identify an ASX-200 listed company which the team believes should establish a new headquarters in Newcastle with the aim to improve the economic diversity of the region.
Under the supervision of their mentors, each team was required to produce a twenty-five page report and deliver a thirty-minute presentation to the judging panel.
The Health Port team’s project centred around attracting health and technology companies to Newcastle to promote economic growth, sustainability and diversity through the establishment of three interconnected innovation precincts.
The winning team, HealthPort, consisted of:
- Dr Bin Chen from TUNRA Bulk Solids,
- Sam Noakes from Port Waratah Coal Services,
- Nicholas Oliveri from Bohemia Interactive Solutions,
- Chanel Egan from Forsythes Technology,
- Brodie White from NAB,
- Andrew Fisher from Ampcontrol, and
- Ian Winn from One Clan who acted as team mentor.
