    The ASBSH will be hosting an event in Perth on Thursday 21 February from 6 pm – 7 pm. Guest speakers Dr Tim Donohue and Prof Craig Wheeler will focus on recent advancements in the materials handling industry that have come out of TUNRA and the University of Newcastle. The areas that will be covered in this presentation include;

    • New conveyor belt cut and gouge test

    • Calculation of belt flexure resistance using the new indentation rolling resistance Australian Standard

    • Advancements in DEM/FEM conveyor belt simulation and verification testing

    • Development of a 3 parameter materials handling index to classify cohesive materials

    • Update on the DEM calibration process and relationship to physical testing
