    • Iron Ore Testing for Reliable Design

    TUNRA Bulk Solids’ Engineering Manager, Dr David Bradney will be  hosting a workshop at the upcoming Iron Ore Open Pit Operators Conference 2026 in June. He has over a decade of experience working in both research and industrial consultancy on a diverse range of challenging projects in the mining, manufacturing, and energy industries. Dave has a high level of expertise in the application of computational modelling regularly applying Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Discrete Element Method (DEM) Modelling across a broad array of problems within the bulk material handling sector.

    This workshop will explore materials handling testing programs for iron ore operations and application to effective design. Sessions will include:

    • Flow Properties testing
    • Other specialised testing (including testing for Discrete Element Method DEM calibration)
    • Interface with geomet testing and considerations on sampling
    • Application of testing results to design
    • Iron ore-specific case studies
